Fatherhood is one of life’s most transformative experiences, and it can also be one of the loneliest. This circle is for men who are fathers, step-fathers, or father figures. We talk about what it actually feels like to show up for another human’s life, the mistakes we make, the love we’re learning how to express, and how being a father is reshaping who we are.

Who this circle is for

Fathers, stepfathers, and father figures in all kinds of families.

What a gathering is like

Talk about the experiences, challenges, and joys of raising and supporting children. Share what you are learning and listen to other fathers without judging or giving advice.

What you don’t have to do

  • You don’t have to talk. Listening is participation, and plenty of men listen the first few times.
  • You don’t have to fix anyone. Nobody will try to fix you either — that is the agreement, said out loud at the start.
  • You don’t have to have a story ready. Men speak from their own experience, and “I don’t know yet” is an experience.
  • You don’t have to commit to returning. Try a gathering and decide whether you’d like to attend again.
  • You choose what to share about yourself and why you came.
