In MenLiving’s own words

New to MenLiving? These 30-minute gatherings are built for first-timers and newer men. In these meetings men will do a quick check-in to connect with other guys just starting out, and get oriented to all the different ways you can engage in the MenLiving community.

Who this circle is for

Men who want to know what this is before committing an evening to it. Also men who have been sent by someone else and would rather see it than be told about it.

What a gathering is like

A short check-in with other men who are also new, and a walk through the ways in — which gatherings are free, what the community holds, and what happens if you decide to come back. It is a briefing, not a screening.

What you don’t have to do

  • You don’t have to talk. Listening is participation, and plenty of men listen the first few times.
  • You don’t have to fix anyone. Nobody will try to fix you either — that is the agreement, said out loud at the start.
  • You don’t have to have a story ready. Men speak from their own experience, and “I don’t know yet” is an experience.
  • You don’t have to keep coming. Men come once, or for a season, or for years. Coming three times and moving on is the model working.
  • You don’t have to explain why you came. Nobody will ask, and nobody will follow up afterwards.

Same agreements everywhere. What changes is the room.

Ready when you are

Most are free, most weeks of the year. You can listen the whole time and nobody will ask you why.

Keep the door open for the men who need it

Connection should stay within reach.

Most circles are free because donors pay for them. Your gift funds facilitator training and keeps the open door open for the men who need it most.
