In MenLiving’s own words

This is a space for men navigating the challenges and celebrations of early adulthood — figuring out who you are, what you want, and how to be yourself while the world’s got opinions about all of it. You’ll find other young men asking the same questions. These sessions are guided by men of all ages who have been trained specifically to hold space for younger men and learn something about themselves in the process. Appropriate for men ages 18-29.

Who this circle is for

Men aged 18 to 29. It is the only circle with a stated age range, and it is stated because the conversation is different when everyone in the room is at the same point.

What a gathering is like

Work, money, love, and the question of who you are becoming, with other men asking it at the same time. Facilitators are trained specifically to hold this room.

What you don’t have to do

  • You don’t have to talk. Listening is participation, and plenty of men listen the first few times.
  • You don’t have to fix anyone. Nobody will try to fix you either — that is the agreement, said out loud at the start.
  • You don’t have to have a story ready. Men speak from their own experience, and “I don’t know yet” is an experience.
  • You don’t have to keep coming. Men come once, or for a season, or for years. Coming three times and moving on is the model working.
  • You don’t have to explain why you came. Nobody will ask, and nobody will follow up afterwards.

Same agreements everywhere. What changes is the room.

Ready when you are

Most are free, most weeks of the year. You can listen the whole time and nobody will ask you why.

Keep the door open for the men who need it

Connection should stay within reach.

Most circles are free because donors pay for them. Your gift funds facilitator training and keeps the open door open for the men who need it most.
