Why MenWalking?
The physical health consequences of poor or insufficient connection among men include a 29% increased risk of heart disease, a 32% increased risk of stroke, and a 50% increased risk of developing dementia for older adults. Additionally, lacking social connection increases risk of premature death by more than 60%. (U.S. Surgeon General Advisory.)
1 in 5 men said they had gotten emotional support from a friend in the past week, compared with 4 in 10 women. (Survey Center on American Life.)
We’re taking one small step for men to connect with other men.
What?
Walk and talk for one hour, once per month, with men. Leave earbuds at home to be present with other men.

Meet at
Set GPA for 3430 Weems Road BUT parking is off Weems Road south of the railroad tracks. This is the Goose Pond Trail at Tom Brown Park. It’s a paved & dirt parking area at the northwest tip of the park. Call/Text 850-559-6591 if you need more info.

Do I need to RSVP?
No, RSVP is optional.
What happens after each walk?
Anything you want. Go for coffee with a new connection. Stay to connect more deeply. Go home. It’s up to you.
