The Hidden Tool: Feel Your Feelings
Join MenLiving Facilitator Yitz Miller of WickedAwesomeMan Counseling for a 90 minute workshop on navigation partner relationships through the good times and through the challenging times. This call will create a connection space for men to share about their own relationship journey with others from the MenLiving community and beyond.
This meeting invites men to explore one of the most powerful yet overlooked aspects of emotional health which is the simple act of allowing ourselves to feel. Guided by two of MenLiving’s five core suggestions of living emotionally and living consciously, this session will create space to ask:
What if we allowed fear, anger, sadness, happiness, and excitement to flow through us instead of silencing them?
In this call we will check in with where we are in our relationships with our emotions and how we can cultivate greater acceptance of our whole selves.
The session will also introduce gentle awareness practices around breath as a means to stay grounded and connected. There will be no formal breathwork exercises or techniques to master; just an invitation to breathe deeply, easily, and consistently as we explore the link between emotion, awareness, and the body.
Inspired by the teachings of Gay Hendricks (At the Speed of Life) and David Dayan Fisher, this meeting integrates the practices of “presencing” and moment-to-moment feeling with MenLiving’s five suggestions for a conscious life. Participants will have a chance to reflect on their own experience, share insights, use the act of feeling their feelings in their body and breathing consciously as actual tools, all the while supporting one another in the ongoing work of feeling fully and living fully.
