The Wisdom Circle

The Wisdom Circle is an ongoing monthly gathering designed for men who are moving into—or already living within—their season of eldership. This is not a space defined by age alone, but by life experience. Most men in The Wisdom Circle are on the second or third mountain of life and are navigating things such as being in the latter stages of raising a family at home, empty nesting, retirement or semi-retirement, shifts in identity and purpose, changing bodies and energy levels, evolving relationships, or the quieter (and sometimes unsettling) questions that arise as life transitions. The Wisdom Circle exists to meet these moments with presence, honesty, and shared humanity.

Building on the foundation of our existing Elders work, The Wisdom Circle is intended to be an extension rather than a reinvention. The heart of the space remains the same: authentic connection, meaningful conversation, and the opportunity to be seen and heard by other men who understand the terrain. This is a welcoming, open, and interactive community where men can bring both certainty and doubt, strength and vulnerability, wisdom and curiosity—without pressure to perform, fix, or arrive at conclusions.

Each month will include two online group gatherings. The first of those two calls each month will take place on a weekday evening and will be listed on the MenLiving calendar. That call will be centered around themes relevant to this stage of life—such as legacy, identity, physical and emotional change, caregiving, work and retirement, and deepening relationships. At times, these calls may include a guest facilitator or speaker to help frame the conversation.

Our second call each month will be on a weekend morning or afternoon and will be a more open, discussion-based circle that emphasizes shared reflection, small-group dialogue, and peer connection, perhaps even breaking up into subgroups based on interests.

Men are welcome to explore The Wisdom Circle at their own pace. The monthly evening call can be accessed by registering directly through the MenLiving website calendar, allowing men to try the space and see if it resonates. Those who feel called to continue on a month-to-month basis—and/or participate in the weekend discussion circles—are invited to support the program through an ongoing $20 per month contribution, designated specifically for The Wisdom Circle. This support helps sustain the space and extend our reach overall, while keeping it accessible, relational, and rooted in community rather than obligation.
